First Steps for New Members

Thank you for registering and welcome to me2oh.com! As a new user, there are a few "first steps" of interest to you. There are only four steps and everything will take you less than five minutes.

1. Verify your email address: You received an email after you signed up. This email contains a link that will verify your email address. Please check your email (and you might need to check your spam folder to be sure that the email we sent was not moved to that folder by your email program). Click the link contained in the email message to confirm your email address and choose your me2oh.com account password.
2. Log into this Web site: Once you verify your email and create a password, you can log into this Web site. Log in first before moving on to Step 3 below. Once you are logged in, note that two new menus will appear in the left sidebar of the page. You'll be able to read and create private messages to/from other members here, and the menu with your name above it is where all your stuff is located.
3. Verify your avatar: In order to gain access to all the features of this site, you must verify ownership of your avatar. This is a very simple process and takes only a few minutes. Visit the Verification page for more information and the locations of all our terminals in Second Life.
4. Complete your user profile: Your User Profile stores all your Second Life and first life information that you wish to share with others. Create your profile so that others can find you! Be sure to upload an account picture so that others can see  you, too!

You're done!

Once you have verified your email and avatar, you can post messages to the forums, upload pictures, post articles to your personal blog, create organization and destination profiles, create groups, and so much more!

Do you own a business or manage any other type of organization in Second Life? The organization type can be anything: a nonprofit, a club, a roleplay sim, a school, etc. If you do, you will probably want to do the following as soon as possible so that others can easily find your organization and visit you.

1. Create an organization profile. This acts as your organization's home page and allows other me2oh.com members to easily search for and find you.
2. Create destination profiles for all the important landmarks associated with your organization. This allows me2oh.com members to teleport to your organization's important destinations. The destinations associated with an organization will appear on that organization's profile page.
3. Create a group. The group can be one of several types and you can restrict which members can post notices and discussions to the group. For example, you can create a support group where all members may post and participate in discussions, but only you can post group notices, or you can create an updates group where only you may post both discussions and group notices, but all members may reply to your discussion topics. You can even create a group that is private and invite to the group only those avatars who work for you. Our groups system is very flexible!

If you have multiple organizations, you may create multiple organization profiles. If you need multiple groups, you may create multiple groups. me2oh.com is very flexible and we encourage our members to create as much or as little content as they wish.
